So, I have been busy...
In the last three weeks (and a little before that), I perused a Swedish vendor selling reconditioned second hand server equipment and obtained a Supermicro 2U server. Small Xeon CPU, 16GiB RAM, but 6 x 3TB disk. So I splatted Debian 12 on it and got to work. It now runs Exim for SMTP for my domains, with ClamAV and Rspamd hooked in. It also runs Dovecot for IMAP and it indexes things, so IMAP response is pretty fast. I have Kerberos5 KDC/KAdmin server, Gopher server, nginx webserver and a ZNC IRC bouncer running on it. And I am not using more than about 8GiB RAM peak, when AIDE and Backup-Manager kicks off in the mornings.
The plan is to document the setup and what I learned along the way, which was plenty. Moving containers from my NAS onto this rack server was I think the easiest task I faced.
Besides that
I have a quote for a garden tractor from AL-KO. When it arrives, which will be in a month or so, I will post a review after I have tackled my overgrown garden. The two attachments I have ordered with it is the cutting bar (useful for dealing with long grass) and a rotary mower. Other attachments exist, like rotivator, a roll-brush and a snow plow. That is for another year to obtain though.
In short, a Ryobi electrical mower just is not cutting it. Pun intended.
